Abstract

Medicine has become one of the vital commodities that run the lives of individuals, especially in recent times, when the world is witnessing a widespread of deadly diseases and epidemics that threaten the human right to enjoy the highest level of health. On this basis, the majority of the world’s legislation has ensured the establishment of legal frameworks that guarantee the protection of this right, taking into account the subject of medicine, as it is one of the most common and effective ways to prevent and treat illnesses. Accordingly, this article will address the subject of medicine and the right to health by explaining their concept and the most important legal texts that elaborated the principle of the right to health, embodied in framing the field of medicine by identifying the substances that are considered among medical drugs, reaching its ultimate goal to preserve physical and mental integrity for individuals.
